“How much does the TG channel earn?” - a question to which most owners answer with one number: “X rubles for an advertising post.” This is the wrong denominator. In 2026, the TG channel in Russia is monetized through seven spinning models, and most channels use only two or three. The remaining four bring another 40–60% of potential revenue. I’m analyzing all seven - with real numbers from 5K channels and 50K subscribers.

I raised NEMIFIST channel from 0 to 50K subscribers and continue to help clients monetize their channels. The numbers in this article are the medians for the 7 channels I worked with in 2024–2026: four gaming, two B2B, one lifestyle. Sizes from 5K to 80K subscribers.

A channel with 20K subscribers with one monetization model earns 80–120K ₽/month. The same channel with the right mix of 4 models - 280–400K ₽/month. The difference is not in size, but in architecture.

Model 1. Paid native advertising (paid posts)

The basic model that everyone knows. The channel hosts an advertiser's post for a fixed fee. The price depends on the size, ER and subject of the channel.

Real rates in 2026 by channel type:

SubscribersB2C / lifestyleGamingB2B / nische
5–10K3–7K ₽5–10K ₽12–25K ₽
10–25K8–18K ₽12–22K ₽25–60K ₽
25–50K18–35K ₽25–45K ₽60–120K ₽
50K+35–80K ₽45–90K ₽120–250K ₽

The main rule: B2B channels pay 2-3x more per post than lifestyle. This is because one attracted B2B lead pays back 10–50x the cost of a post, and in B2C niches it pays off 1.5–3x. Therefore, niche is more important than size.

Model 2. Telegram Ads - native advertising through the platform

TG Ads is the official advertising account of Telegram, appeared in 2021. Since then it has become much cheaper and more accessible to advertisers. Channels receive a share of advertising that is shown to their subscribers through the system: ~50% of revenue.

In 2026, for a channel with 20K subscribers, TG Ads brings 15-40K ₽/month passively - without the need to post anything manually. For a 50K+ channel this is 50–120K ₽/month. Main conditions: the channel is registered in TG Ads, the content skips moderation, the audience is not inflated.

Connecting TG Ads takes ~30 minutes for registration + 3–5 business days for verification. I usually connect to all my clients immediately, as soon as the channel exceeds 5K real subscribers.

Model 3. Subscription to a closed channel (Premium)

A private channel with exclusive content that subscribers pay for access to. In 2024, TG introduced native boost mechanics and Premium features, which greatly simplified monetization using this model.

For a channel with 10K subscribers on the main (free) channel, it is realistic to convert 1–4% into premium at a rate of 500–1500 ₽/month. This is 50–600K ₽/month of additional revenue, depending on the niche and quality of premium content.

What usually comes with premium:

  • Exclusive reviews and analytics - what is given in fragments on the free channel
  • Direct communications with the author — Q&A in chat, voice replies
  • Early access — materials before public publication
  • Insider deals and investment ideas — for financial channels

Model 4. Stories as a separate inventory

Telegram stories appeared in 2023, and in 2026 they became a separate advertising inventory. The channel can sell advertising in stories separately from posts.

Stories prices are usually 50–70% of the cost of a post, but the conversion at the pixel level is higher: they are closer to the lock screen, and the user takes action more often. On my gaming projects, stories convert 1.5–2x better than posts, at a cost of 60% of the post.

Disadvantages: ephemeral nature (stories live for 24 hours) and narrower coverage (15–30% of subscribers, 60–80% for posts).

Model 5. Senler bots for lead generation for your business

Not “selling advertising”, but converting the audience into your business asset. The bot collects subscribers into its funnel (Senler, Salebot, manychat analogs), sends chains of messages, and converts them into customers of your services or products.

This is the most powerful model for channels where the owner has his own core business. The channel works as a “top funnel” where content creates trust and Senler converts. On my B2B projects, Senler generated 2-4x more revenue than the purely advertising model of the same channels.

Specific numbers on the channel 25K subscribers (B2B consulting): 1500 people subscribed to the bot in 6 months, 280 reached the discovery call, 38 became clients - this is ~7,200,000 ₽ in revenue. The same number of subscribers through direct advertising would bring ~600K ₽ in the same time.

Model 6. Direct product sales

If the channel has its own product - courses, consulting, physical goods, digital subscriptions - sell directly through the channel. This is the best monetization in terms of unit-economics, but it requires a product.

On the channels that I host:

  • Gaming channel 30K subscribers — selling your own merch. ~80K ₽/month of revenue at 5–6% margin
  • Marketing channel 18K subscribers — selling your own mini-course 9K ₽. ~6 sales/month = 54K ₽/month
  • B2B channel 12K subscribers — discovery calls and retainer contracts. ~250K–500K ₽/month

Model 7. B2B leads through a showcase channel

A special case of direct sales is when the channel works not as a “trading platform”, but as proof-of-expertise for B2B transactions. The user subscribes, reads, and after 3–6 months comes to discovery with a ready level of trust.

This model requires patience - leads from such a channel appear with a delay of 3-9 months. But the average check is significantly higher than under the advertising model. On my own channel, the first leads appeared 4 months after the start; in 2026 ~30% of my new clients come from this channel.

Summary table: which model brings how much

Channel 20K subscribers, gaming niche, to illustrate how the models stack up:

ModelRevenue/monthEffortTime to result
Paid posts (4–6/month)80–130K ₽AverageImmediately
TG Ads (passive)25–45K ₽Low2 weeks
Premium channel (3% of subscribers for 700 ₽)42K ₽High2–3 months
Stories (4–6/month)25–50K ₽LowImmediately
Senler-bot → merch sales60–100K ₽High1–2 months
Total mix230–367K ₽/month—3–4 months to full potential

A channel that is monetized only through one paid posts model leaves 150–230K ₽/month on the table in this example. This is the “architectural gap” of most channels.

Where to start channel monetization

  1. Connect TG Ads. The “cheapest” model is passive income without effort. We connect immediately after 5K subscribers.
  2. Publish the price list on paid posts. A clear price list cuts out 80% of low-quality requests and facilitates negotiations with serious advertisers.
  3. Add a Senler bot if you have a main business. The highest ROI per unit of effort is for those with a product or service.
  4. Test stories. Low force, new model - worth checking after 2-3 months.
  5. After 4-6 months - premium channel. If you have a loyal audience base and high-quality premium content.
