Job search for AI-native marketer in 2026: what to show, how to search, what fork to call

In the Russian market, AI-native marketers receive +30–50% to the average. But HR doesn't know who it is. Specifically: how to rewrite a resume, what to put in a portfolio, how to pass an interview and not let the fork get knocked down. With GitHub portfolio template.

In the vacancies on hh.ru you will not yet find “AI-native marketer” - this role does not exist in HR classifiers. But in reality, companies already pay 1.3–1.5x more for such a candidate than for a classic Senior Marketing Manager. The problem is that HR doesn't know how to identify such candidates, and candidates don't know how to position themselves. This article is a practical guide for job search in 2026: what to show, how to search, what range to call.

I myself was actively looking for a job in 2024, got to 7 final rounds in the Russian Federation and UAE companies, received 4 offers, negotiated 3 of them in plus. Based on the results of this experience, I developed a system that I now share with five of my mentee marketers in the TG chat.

An AI native marketer is not a “marketer who can ChatGPT.” This is a marketer for whom AI changes the operating model of work - it reduces the production hour by 5-10x, freeing up time for strategy.

What distinguishes an AI-native from an “AI-skilled marketer”

The employer should feel this difference in the first 3 minutes of the conversation:

Marketer with AI skillsAI native marketer
“I use ChatGPT for copywriting”“Made 47 Veo ads in a quarter for $312 – 95% savings”
“I speed up tasks by 20–30%”“Replaced 5 roles in the production team with 3 tools”
“Familiar with different neural networks”“I am running 3 production projects on Claude Code + Veo + n8n with specific metrics”
Considered a “skill on a resume”This is part of the operational model - you can’t take it out of the role
Salary increase 0–15%Increase of 30–50% to benchmark role

Main pattern: AI-native measures the unit-economics of its work. There is always “cost per creative”, “hours per campaign”, “output per AI token”. This is a completely different language than “confident user of neural networks.”

What to show on your resume and portfolio

Summary: 5 Variables That Must Be

  1. Title with specifics. Not “Marketer”, but “Performance Marketing Lead, AI-native (Claude Code / Veo / n8n stack)”. Long, but catches the recruiter in scan mode
  2. Summary with AI-impact figures. “I reduced the production of creatives by 8x using the AI stack ($312 for 47 videos instead of 2.4M rubles). I use Claude Code, Veo 3.1, n8n in combat projects"
  3. Experience with specific AI outcome metrics. Didn't "use AI". And “through AI agents in n8n, he automated 7 of the team’s 9 repetitive processes; saved ~12 hours/week”
  4. Stack as a separate section. Performance / SMM / AI-tools / Analytics / Coding (if any). Not “skills”, but “tool stack” is an insider signal
  5. Link to public proof. GitHub portfolio, articles on vc.ru / Habr, blog, case study

GitHub portfolio for a marketer - what to include

In 2026, this element makes the AI-native candidate stand out the most. The structure of the GitHub repository that I have made and I recommend mentee:

  • README.md — who you are, what stack, links to 3–5 key cases
  • /case-studies/ — 5–8 project reviews in Markdown with metrics. No NDA sensitive parts
  • /prompts/ — 10–15 prompt templates that you actually use
  • /n8n-workflows/ — export of 3–5 working flows with descriptions
  • /landing-pages/ — Next.js / HTML landing pages that you created (if you know how). This is a strong signal of “sovereignty” (I wrote about this in separate article)
  • blog/ — markdown articles on professional topics, or links to your publications

Public blog or TG channel

In 2026, this is almost a must-have for Lead+ levels. Not “content marketing for self-promotion”, but a demonstration of thinking through texts. This is a powerful filter for hiring companies: they read the channel and understand whether you are suitable.

Minimum: 10-15 articles from the last 12 months on professional topics with specific metrics. Details about workflow and SEO for a blog I'll analyze it separately.

Where to look for jobs in 2026

Open markets in descending order of effectiveness:

  • Telegram channels for vacancies. “Norm work” (norm.work), “we are coders”, specialized TG channels for the niche. The speed of publishing new vacancies is better than on hh.ru
  • LinkedIn (via VPN). For international remote workers and UAE companies. If you are interested in English-speaking proven roles
  • hh.ru. Still the largest database, but the quality of filtration is low. Used as a "spare channel"
  • VC.ru vacancies — for tech-startups, less often general companies
  • Cold outreach to founders / CMO. The most effective channel for seasoned candidates. Read more about cold outreach in my article about templates and metrics

80% of my final offer conversations came through direct messages to CMOs/founders, not through a formal resume submission. This is the main undervalued channel in the Russian job market 2026.

Interview: 5 types of questions to prepare for

1. “Show a specific AI case”

The most common question in the final rounds. The ready answer is 90 seconds with this structure:

  • Project context (15 seconds)
  • What happened before AI implementation (15 seconds)
  • What we did - specific stack + workflow (30 seconds)
  • Before/after metrics (20 seconds)
  • Lesson / what would you do differently (10 seconds)

2. “What is your betting grid?”

Many candidates are confused by this question. A prepared answer is a specific range with justification. Read more about marketer's bid grid 2026.

3. “What will you do in the first 90 days?”

Standard structured answer:

  • Days 1–14: discovery (current processes, metrics, team, tools)
  • Days 15–45: pilot one process with a measurable goal
  • Days 46–90: scaling + proposals for further development

4. “How do you see the AI transformation of the team”

The answer shows whether you understand the difference between “buy tools” and “change operational model”. More details in my article about the 90-day AI transformation plan.

5. “What projects didn’t work out for you?”

A prepared case of failure in a portfolio is a powerful signal of trust. I have a separate case −20% in the quarter, which I tell at every interview, and it really helped.

How to Negotiate a Fork

Tactics that worked for me in 4 out of 4 offer negotiations:

  1. Don't say the number first. To the question “what is your expected salary” - the answer is “depends on the format and composition of benefits, let’s talk about the role first, and I’ll give you some insight”
  2. Find a market benchmark. Ask 3-5 colleagues in a similar role. Know the range by niche
  3. Tie a range to specific projects. “On the last project I did X, which is equivalent to Y hours of senior market work. My range reflects this cost + AI premium"
  4. Willingness to refuse. If HR is trying to knock the plug by understating “because we are a startup,” don’t agree. Better to get away with 1 conversation than 12 months in an unpaid stress environment
  5. Negotiate on non-monetary components. Remote work, flexible schedule, paid training, equipment, insurance. At level 1.5–2 they often negotiate easier than the salary

How much does an AI-native marketer actually earn in the market in the Russian Federation in 2026?

Benchmarks based on an anonymous survey of 23 industry colleagues (see below). betting grid):

RoleNo AI surchargeAI-native
Mid Marketing Manager120–180K ₽/month160–240K ₽/month
Senior / Lead200–340K ₽/month280–480K ₽/month
Head of Marketing350–550K ₽/month450–800K ₽/month
CMO / Director600K–1.2M ₽/month800K–2M ₽/month

These ranges are for Moscow. Regions are 25–35% lower. International (via VPN, for UAE / SEA / EU startups) - usually in dollars, equivalent to +30–60% to Moscow figures.

What NOT to do on a job search

  • Mass mailing of resumes without personalization. Response rate 0.5–1%—burnout. 5 accurate serves are better than 50 formulaic serves
  • Hide AI skills “so as not to appear overqualified.” It's 2026, AI skills are the default expectation
  • Make a resume in English if you are looking in the Russian Federation. The English CV signals “salary in dollars”, and many companies are screened out at the start
  • Agree to the first offer. The minimum is to ask for 2-3 days to think it over. Most often, an improved version comes after this
  • Delay negotiations. More than 2 rounds of “let’s discuss the range” - loss of interest on the part of HR
