A marketer writes websites. Not IT - marketing sovereignty

Article cover:A marketer writes websites. Not IT - marketing sovereignty

There are six Next.js sites on my resume. It's not "because it's a hobby." This is because in 2026, when you have Claude Code, the landing page for the campaign is done in a day - and not in a month through a contractor who does not understand the funnel. And I believe that in the next 2 years this will become a basic skill of a marketer at the same level as the ability to put together a campaign in Yandex Direct.

It infuriates me when fellow marketers say “we’re marketing, not IT.” This was true in 2018. In 2026, it’s laziness or ignorance. Between “marketing” and “code” a layer has appeared in which neither a 4-year education nor an understanding of architecture is needed - you need an AI engineer in your terminal and an understanding of the funnel in your head.

Marketer 2026 writes code not because he is an IT specialist. Because owning the landing page is part of owning the funnel.

Old model: marketer gives technical specifications → contractor 2 months → landing page with UX 2018

The standard pipeline for 2019–2023 looked like this. As a marketer, I decide to launch a campaign and need a landing page for the promotion. What I do:

  1. I write technical specifications - structure, texts, references. It takes 1–2 days.
  2. I agree with the designer - the layout in Figma takes 5-7 working days. Edits.
  3. I send it to layout - the front-end renders it in HTML/Tailwind in 4-6 days. Edits.
  4. Deployment and integration of analytics - another 2-3 days.
  5. We test before launch - 5-10 minor bugs are identified. Another 2–3 days.

Total: from 3 weeks to 2 months to a typical landing page for a campaign. The cost is usually 250–600K ₽ depending on the complexity. And most importantly, during these weeks I, as a marketer, lost control: something was changed, some pattern was used from a 2018 trend, no one optimized the conversion at the layout stage.

I remember well one EZ KATKA project in 2023 - a landing page for a collab with Pyrokinesis. The contractor did it for 6 weeks. Budget 380K ₽. The result: a beautiful landing page that loaded in 4.5 seconds on mobile and did not have Pixel-tracking for remarketing. I had to redo it.

New model: me + Claude Code = landing page in a day

In 2024, I started using Claude Code (at that time it was still Claude 3.5 Sonnet via CLI). Now, in April 2026, I do the landing page for the promo like this:

  1. In the morning: I am writing a prompt. “Landing for the NEMIFIST campaign, dark theme, Geist font, 5 sections (hero, features, pricing, testimonials, CTA), Senler + Pixel + GA4 integration. Tailwind v4, Next.js 15" 30 minutes.
  2. After 90 minutes: ready-made website with components, typography, mobile-friendly, header with navigation, footer, analytics. Claude Code writes everything to files directly, I just check the diffs.
  3. An hour and a half for edits and content: you need to substitute real texts, replace placeholder images, and customize them to fit the brand.
  4. 30 minutes for deployment: Vercel deploy, attach a domain, check analytics.

Total: approximately one working day, 4–5 hours of pure time. Cost: $20/month subscription to Claude Code. If we convert into hours and rubles, the difference is this:

ParameterThrough a contractor (2023)Via Claude Code (2026)
Time3–6 weeks4–5 hours
Direct cost250–600K ₽~5K ₽ (my hour × 5)
Content controlThrough technical specifications + editsDirect
Performance toolsOften absentImmediately built in
Time to edit “the offer has been changed”3–5 working days30 minutes

50-120 times faster, 50 times cheaper, and I don’t lose the “marketer → contractor → marketer” focus, but live in the same context.

What you need to know for this - minimum stack

I’ll say right away: write React components from scratch or understand database architecture no need. A different set of knowledge is needed.

  • Basic HTML/CSS - easy to understand what a tag, class, indentation are. Level - I can read someone else’s index.html and understand where my header is and where the button is. The 6-hour course on YouTube is closed.
  • The concept of React components is at the level of “component = block that can be reused.” I don’t need to understand what props are - Claude Code handles it itself. Understanding that the Hero component is the “top landing screen” is enough.
  • Tailwind CSS - at the recognition level. I don't write `flex flex-col gap-4 p-8` by hand. I just understand that it means “vertical list with indents”, and I can tell Claude to “increase the space between sections.”
  • Vercel deploy is 3 buttons. You import the repository from GitHub, click deploy, and get the URL. It’s more difficult to register in Yandex Direct.
  • Git - basic work: clone, commit, push. This is really necessary, but it takes 30 minutes to figure it out once.

That is, collectively - about 10–15 hours to master the entire stack. After that, Claude Code does the rest.

What does the company gain?

Direct benefits for business, in addition to the obvious savings:

  1. The speed of A/B tests increases by 10x. Previously, a test of a new landing page took 2 weeks to develop an alternative version. Now - 30 minutes. This means that I can run 8–10 times more hypotheses per quarter.
  2. Control over the funnel is in one hand. Performance, content, copywriting, layout, analytics - all from one person. There is no “handoff between departments” where nuance and context are lost.
  3. You can respond to news updates within hours. A competitor has launched a new promotion - I can roll out a counter landing page by the end of the day, not in two weeks.
  4. The unit economics of landing pages are different. If previously the payback of a landing page was calculated taking into account 400K ₽ development, now any experiment is profitable - the entry threshold is close to zero.

What does a marketer gain - marketing sovereignty

This is the main thing. Marketing sovereignty - a state when you do not depend on the willingness of another person to complete a task in order to run an experiment.

In 2023, I had such a case at EZ KATKA: I wanted to launch a landing page for a special promotion on the weekend. The contractor went on vacation - the promotion was not completed. We lost 3 weeks of promotion and an invaluable amount of revenue. In 2026, this is basically impossible, because I am my own contractor.

In addition to operational control, there is another effect: you think about marketing through the prism of what you can technically implement. This changes the level of hypotheses. Previously, I would not have thought “let’s make a landing page with dynamic offers by geo,” because it is “expensive and time-consuming.” Now this is the norm.

Counter-argument: “When are complex integrations needed?”

The most common objection: “but if you need to integrate custom CRM, server logic, payment processing, Claude Code can’t handle it.”

They are right about one thing. For production applications with complex business logic, a team of developers is needed. Nobody offers to do bank processing through Claude Code.

But I'm not talking about applications, but about landing pages for campaigns. They have a typical stack: static page, form (sent to CRM via webhook), Pixel analytics, sometimes A/B test. This Claude Code closes 100%. This and there is 90% of marketing sites.

When you need a full-fledged product (SaaS, marketplace, app) - of course, developers. But “a marketer writes websites” is not about SaaS. This is about landing pages, case pages, blogs, landing pages.

Practical takeaway: where to start via Claude Code

If you are a marketer and want to get started, here is my minimal onboarding:

  1. Subscription to Claude Pro ($20/month) and installation of Claude Code (terminal-based AI engineer). Instructions - on the Anthropic website, 15 minutes.
  2. GitHub account + Vercel account - both are free. 10 minutes.
  3. First launch — ask Claude Code to make “a simple landing page for yourself as a marketer.” In an hour you will receive a working website. This is your sandbox for understanding the process.
  4. Second launch in a week — a real landing page for the current campaign. At this stage, you find out what the 5 typical problems are (styles are not loaded, analytics does not work, the form is not sent) and how Claude solves them (it solves them immediately if you provide context in the prompt).
  5. Third landing page — already quality standards, ready to go into production. Next, it’s just a tool in your arsenal, like Yandex Direct or Figma.

It took me about 2 weeks part time. Yours may be faster or slower depending on how comfortable you are with the terminal.

What do I do in Claude Code, besides landing pages?

To give an idea of the scale, in 2025–2026 I did the following using Claude Code:

  • 6 landing pages for campaigns (this portfolio site is one of them)
  • 3 Telegram bots for lead generation (Senler alternatives)
  • n8n automation for CRM integrations
  • Scripts for parsing metrics from VK Ads and Yandex Direct in Google Sheets
  • Microservice for generating UTM tags via Telegram bot
  • Dashboard for the client with visualization of performance metrics

Time for each - from 2 hours to 2 days. Previously, I would not have done any of this in principle - because it was unprofitable to hire a developer for each of these micro-projects. Now I do it myself and it's part of my marketing work.

What to pick up on Monday

If you are a marketer in 2026 and still outsource all your websites to contractors:

  1. Install Claude Pro and Claude Code. Tonight.
  2. Make a test landing page about anything - not for a combat mission. Just to go through the process.
  3. Next week - the next real landing page via Claude. Note the time.
  4. In a month, count: how many landing pages you made yourself, how many hours you saved, how many A/B tests you ran.
  5. After 3 months - if you haven’t “drawn in” - okay, not your thing. If you got involved, you are now a next generation marketer.

If you want to discuss or need help with your first landing page, write @dipustovalov. Sometimes I do “launch your first website” sessions for marketers - in 2 hours on the call you come out with a working landing page.
