Chapter 16 from 18

AI tools for performance marketers 2026

ChatGPT for creative copywriting, n8n for automation, Claude Code for landing pages and bots.

In 2026, AI in performance is no longer a “copywriting assistant”, but a part of daily stack. On my projects, AI covers 30–50% of tasks, which in 2022 year was done by a team of 3-4 people. This chapter is not a “review of all neural networks”, but the specific stack that I use myself, and why these particular tools.

chatgpt and claude for copywriting

ChatGPT (GPT-4o/o1) and Claude (Sonnet 4.7) are the two main text tools in marketing stack. ChatGPT is better in short iterations and tabular format. Claude writes in a more lively language and is less likely to slip into corporate clichés. I use both for different tasks:

  • Creatives for social networks - Claude Better maintains the tone and style of the brand.
  • Announcements for Direct and VK — ChatGPT. Iterates quickly, easily generates 20 options for A/B.
  • Email chains - Claude Long texts with emotional component.
  • Audience segmentation by description — ChatGPT. Works well with tables and clustering.
  • Brief and strategy - Claude Structured document with justification.

midjourney and nano banana for creatives

Previously, “making 10 advertising banners” took 2-3 designer days. It's one o'clock now Midjourney v6 or Nano Banana Pro + Canva.

  • Midjourney v6. The strongest model for 2026 for photorealistic and atmospheric images. Price ~$30 per month.
  • Nano Banana Pro/2 (via kie.ai). Holds consistency well character in a series of pictures is key for a brand with a human face. Price per picture.
  • Stable Diffusion/Flux locally. Free, but requires iron and skills. Makes sense for teams generating 500+ images per month.

Creative generation work cycle: formulate 5 hypotheses → prompt for each Midjourney → further tuning in Canva with a brand template → A/B test in the account. Full cycle - 1-2 hours per pack of 10 creatives.

n8n for automating performance processes

n8n is an open-source alternative to Zapier, without restrictions on the number of tasks. On I use n8n in projects for:

  • Automatic collection of reports. Every morning n8n pulls data from Direct, VK, Metrics, CRM and collects in Google Sheet. The marketer opens - everything is ready.
  • Anomaly alerts. CPA is 30% higher than planned - n8n sends to Telegram. CR has fallen below the benchmark - sends it to Slack.
  • Transferring conversions from CRM to Direct. Every night n8n takes paid transactions and uploads them to the Metrics API for optimization.
  • Look-alike update. Unloads fresh customers once a week and uploads to YA Audience via API.
  • Creatives based on triggers. “It’s raining in Moscow today” → n8n generates creative with weather context → uploaded to the office.

claude code for landing pages and bots

Claude Code is a CLI tool for writing code using Claude. Marketer without programming experience, he can put together a working landing page with a form in an hour, UTM markup and integration with Telegram bot.

What I collect Claude Code on a regular basis:

  • A/B test landing pages for hypotheses (5 options per day)
  • Telegram bots for lead magnets and funnels
  • Calculators directly on the site (like mine in /tools)
  • Scripts for UTM processing and loading into CRM
  • Parsers of competitors (prices, assortment, creatives)

The entry threshold is an hour to understand the tool, then everything “writes itself.” This a significant shift: the marketer becomes a “full-stack marketer.”

perplexity and search ai

Perplexity and analogues (You.com, ChatGPT Search) are search engines with built-in AI. I use it for:

  • Quick reconnaissance of competitors (what they have on their website, what reviews)
  • Market data collection (shares, trends, prices)
  • Checking facts before writing cases and articles
  • Brand mention audit: what Perplexity returns when searching for our brand

specialized AI tools for performance

In addition to general models, there are niche ones:

  • AdCreative.ai — generation of advertising banners with ready-made performance templates.
  • Madgicx — AI management of Facebook campaigns (for projects with foreign part of the business).
  • Smartly.io — dynamic creatives for audiences.
  • Click.ru AI — Russian service, Direct optimization through AI.
  • Veo 3.1 / Sora 2 — generation of video creatives 8-15 seconds.

what ai can't do (yet)

To avoid disappointment: AI is not a replacement for a strategist. Doesn't understand the context a particular business is better than the owner. Doesn't consider unit economics without you. Not makes decisions under conditions of uncertainty. Hallucinates on numbers and statistics.

AI replaces routine: generation of options, initial drafts, data collection, automation. AI acts as a “sparring partner” for strategic tasks: sketches hypotheses, tests logic, looks for contradictions. The solution is still the person accepts.

performance marketer's starting AI stack

  1. ChatGPT Plus ($20/month) - for texts and tables.
  2. Claude Pro ($20/month) - for longreads and strategy.
  3. Midjourney Basic ($10/month) - for generating images.
  4. n8n Cloud ($20/month) or self-hosted (free) - for automation.
  5. Claude Code (API, ~$10–30 per month with moderate use) — for scripts and landing pages.
  6. Perplexity Pro ($20/month, optional) - for intelligence and facts.

Total ~$80–100 per month for tools that save 25–40 hours of work. ROI obvious.

in the next chapter

Chapter 17 - when performance doesn't work. Five scenarios in which to spin advertising is pointless: no PMF, long cycle, weak front office, bad channel, negative unit economics.
