SQL

Sales Qualified Lead · qualified sales lead

SQL (Sales Qualified Lead) - a lead ready to talk with sales. Passed the marketing qualification and demonstrated sales readiness.

SQL - Sales Qualified Lead, qualified sales lead. This is an MQL that has passed additional qualifications: budget, need, authority to make decisions, time horizon (BANT framework).

In my b2b projects, SQL is a lead who: - Confirmed that his company has a budget for the project - Clearly formulated the task - Indicated the deadline for making a decision (this quarter, next, etc.) - Is a decision-maker or LVPR

SQL is sold for individual demo/call. The conversion of SQL into a paying customer is usually 15-35%, depending on the niche and skills of the sales team.

A marketer in a project is usually responsible for MQL → SQL conversion. This means: creating materials (case studies, demos) that help sales quickly qualify a lead. In the EdTech project that I am currently leading, I created a series of automated letters that, after the first contact, do the qualifications themselves - the manager receives a ready-made SQL.

Frequently asked questions about SQL

What is SQL?+
SQL - Sales Qualified Lead, a lead ready to talk with the sales department. He passed the marketing qualification (MQL), confirmed the budget, need and deadlines. This is the lead that the manager spends time on - and it’s justified.
How is SQL different from MQL?+
MQL - lead with interest (downloaded, registered). SQL is a lead with intention (there is a budget, the task is specific, the deadlines are clear). Between them is the qualification stage, which is done either by marketing through an auto funnel or by SDR manually.
