Perplexity

Perplexity AI · AI search engine · answer engine

Perplexity is an AI search engine that provides answers with sources instead of a list of links.

Perplexity is a search engine reimagined as an answer engine. Instead of a page of blue links, it shows a condensed answer with source citations right in the text. Works on top of the Bing index and its own crawlers.

I use Perplexity for quick research when I need a specific number or fact with confirmation: statistics on the advertising market, algorithm updates, tool prices. ChatGPT often hallucinates on such questions, but Perplexity gives a source that can be checked in 10 seconds. Perplexity Deep Research is especially useful - it creates a research plan itself and goes through several iterations of the search.

For a marketer, this changes the workflow: competitive research, which previously took half a day, now takes 20 minutes. I make a request like “compare the key metrics of Yandex vs VK 2026 advertising platforms” - and receive a structured response with links to industry reports instead of manual surfing.
