what is included in this figure

CPL = advertising budget ÷ number of leads for the same period. Lead in my numbers this is application with contact: phone or a corporate email that you can reach by phone. Not a click. Don't subscribe to news. Not “left an email to download a checklist.” These are all different metrics, and their CPL differs by 5–20 times. More details about the term itself - in my CPL glossaries.

What not included in the figure 5500 ₽:

  • Qualified Lead (SQL). This is already a filter salesperson or scoring model. By SQL CPL in B2B is usually 3-4 times higher, that is, 15–22 thousand rubles per SQL is the median.
  • Subscribe to the newsletter. Email or TG subscription converts better than demo-request, CPL by subscription is maintained at the level of 200–500 rubles even in B2B. Compare with demo-request incorrect.
  • Lead from organics. SEO leads, content marketing leads, leads from reference programs - they “technically” have CPL = 0, but this cost allocation trick. I only count paid channels: Yandex Direct, VK Ads, programmatic, lead generation networks.

If your report says “CPL B2B SaaS = 1800 ₽” - almost certainly there We added email subscriptions and pdf downloads. When I filter these tables for “lead = application with phone number + clear intention to buy”, the median consistently climbs to 5–6 thousand.

The spread between B2B SaaS (5500 ₽ median) and e-com waitlist (220 ₽ median) - 25 times. It's not random. Demo-request requires corporate email, position, company size, sometimes phone number with confirmation. Email subscription to online store news - one tick. The action is different, the price is different.

Local services (850 ₽) and MedTech (1400 ₽) sit in the middle - their forms are shorter, but competition in the auction is tight, especially in Moscow. Legal services and dentistry in general a separate case, where the median CPL can be 3–5 thousand due to last minute auction.

how it changes over time

B2B SaaS trend over the past three years:

  • 2024: 4200 ₽ median. Was still on the market “free” traffic from VK after migration from prohibited social networks. The auction in Yandex Direct is softer.
  • 2025: 4800 ₽. Competition in VK Ads has increased, Yandex Direct started making high-intent requests more expensive.
  • 2026: 5500 ₽. Further increase in cost per click in Yandex Direct Search, audience migration to Telegram (where performance tools are still raw), general increase in media prices.

Trend +31% for two years. This is not “you have a bad setup”, this is background rise in market prices. If CPL does not grow year by year parallel to the median - you either have a narrow audience or you are doing something fundamentally better than the market (then write like that in the report - “overtook the market median by 25%”).

what does your result mean in the context of a benchmark?

Three scenarios are possible.

CPL is lower than good (that is, less than 2200 ₽). Congratulations, but check. In B2B SaaS, an abnormally low CPL most often means that email subscriptions or registrations arrived under the guise of a demo-request for a webinar - these are leads of different quality. Ring your hands first 50 applications: what proportion makes it to the meeting? If below 25% it is not leads, these are contacts.

CPL is around the median (4–7 thousand rubles). You're in the market. This doesn’t mean “everything is fine” - it means “you’re like everyone else.” Next you look at your unit economics: does this CPL fit into LTV × margin × lead-to-paid CR. This is considered in CPL calculator and LTV/CAC calculator.

CPL is higher than bad (more than 12,000 ₽). It's already necessary here disassemble. Most often one of three reasons. The first one is narrow audience, specific ICP for 200–500 companies throughout Russia, and you simply have nowhere to grow. The second is a landing page with a conversion of 0.8% instead of 3% (this is treated by rework, not by rate). Third - wrong channel: trying to sell enterprise SaaS through seeding on Telegram, and this is about cold calling and LinkedIn alternatives.

sources and methodology

Figures compiled from:

  • 6 of my projects 2024–2026: B2B SaaS (CRM for agencies), B2B services (digital agency), MedTech platform, EdTech (online school), e-com clothing, gaming (indie game pre-orders).
  • Correspondence with 14 colleagues in performance — marketers and paid social specialists who manage B2B projects in Yandex Direct and VK Ads. Anonymized data for January–April 2026.
  • Open reports Yandex Advertising by niche (quarterly review Q1 2026) and Calltouch in medicine, law and real estate - where their numbers clash with my practice.

Collection method: for each niche I take 3-5 sources, consider the median and quartiles. I reject anomalies (CPL above 30,000 ₽ or below 200 ₽ - usually a counting error or specificity, not a general case).

The figures do not constitute financial or investment advice. This is a market map that you can refer to. Target CPL for your business is determined by unit economics, not the median according to the market.
