ChatGPT vs Claude vs Gemini 2026: comparison of AI assistants for marketers on 10 tasks
Comparison of ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini in marketing 2026: tests on 10 tasks - copywriting, analysis, structuring, translation. Table of accuracy, speed, price. Which AI for which task and is it worth paying for multiple subscriptions.

When people ask me the question “which is better - ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini?”, I answer: “what are you going to do?” There is no universal AI assistant in 2026. There are four tools, each for its own type of task. I’m not looking at “who won”, but what to use and when – with real numbers from 6 projects.
I have been working with AI in marketing since the summer of 2024. On 6 current projects with performance budgets starting from 1M ₽/month, I use all four models. AI stack budget: 80-150 $/month. Saves 12-18 hours per week. The numbers in the article are the average of my projects and correspondence with 12 colleagues.
The main misunderstanding about AI in 2026: they think it’s about choosing the “best” tool. It’s more correct to think that this is about which tool to use for which task. A hammer is better than a screwdriver, but you can't tighten a screw with a hammer.
1. ChatGPT vs Claude: main confrontation 2026
ChatGPT remains the king of creativity and speed. Claude is the king of analysis and structure. By the end of 2025, OpenAI released 4.7, Anthropic released Sonnet 4.6. Both models are top. The difference is in the architecture and approach.
Claude Sonnet 4.6 holds context up to 200K tokens - that's ~150 pages of text. ChatGPT 4o - 128K tokens. In practice, this means: Claude does not lose the thread of the conversation by the 10th prompt, ChatGPT begins to “forget” what happened at the beginning on the 5-6th. This is critical for strategies and briefings.
But in creatives, ChatGPT produces more lively, non-standard formulations. Claude tends to be structured - this is a plus for analytics, a minus for advertising headlines where “ragged” energy is needed.

2. Benchmark table: 4 models, 10 tasks
| Problem | ChatGPT 4o/4.7 | Claude Sonnet 4.6 | Gemini 2.5 Pro | Perplexity Pro |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Copywriting (text 2000+ words) | 7/10 | 9/10 | 6/10 | 3/10 |
| Headlines and short texts | 9/10 | 7/10 | 7/10 | 4/10 |
| Analysis of data and reports | 6/10 | 9/10 | 7/10 | 5/10 |
| Research and fact-checking | 5/10 | 6/10 | 6/10 | 9/10 |
| Strategy and briefs | 6/10 | 9/10 | 6/10 | 4/10 |
| Creatives and variations | 9/10 | 7/10 | 6/10 | 3/10 |
| Multimodality (pictures, PDF) | 7/10 | 7/10 | 9/10 | 5/10 |
| Working with tables | 7/10 | 8/10 | 9/10 | 5/10 |
| SEO content (meta tags, alt) | 8/10 | 7/10 | 6/10 | 4/10 |
| Code and n8n scripts | 6/10 | 9/10 | 6/10 | 2/10 |
The assessments are subjective, based on my experience. Claude's 9/10 in copywriting doesn't mean he writes better than ChatGPT. This means that it is less likely to lose structure and context in long texts. In the headlines, ChatGPT overtakes - the wording is sharper.
3. Cost: Subscriptions vs. APIs
Pro subscriptions are enough for one marketer. For the team - API. Here's the cost breakdown.
| Model | Subscription/month | API input (for 1M tokens) | API output (for 1M tokens) | Availability in the Russian Federation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ChatGPT 4o | 20 $ | 2.50 $ | 10 $ | Via VPN |
| Claude Sonnet 4.6 | 20 $ | 3 $ | 15 $ | Via VPN |
| Gemini 2.5 Pro | 20 $ | 1.25 $ | 5 $ | Limited |
| Perplexity Pro | 20 $ | — | — | Without VPN |
In practice: $80/month for a full stack. Time savings - 12-18 hours per week. If we translate into money: with a marketer’s rate of 3000-5000 ₽/hour, the AI stack pays off 5-8 times. If the team consists of 3 people, it is more profitable to connect the API and create a common pool of tokens.
4. Gemini 2.5 Pro: an underrated player
Gemini 2.5 Pro is the best for multimodal tasks. Whether you need to analyze a screenshot of a competitor's search results, compare 20 PDF files, or process a table of 500 rows, Gemini does it faster and more accurately.
Main disadvantage: Gemini is weaker in content generation. The texts turn out “sterile” - without character, without tone of voice. For marketing copy, this is a killer.
The second disadvantage is accessibility. Gemini does not officially operate in the Russian Federation. Via VPN - yes, but intermittently. For full-time work, I wouldn't recommend the Gemini as a primary model.
5. Perplexity: not AI, but an AI search engine - and this is the power
Perplexity is the only one of the four that works without a VPN in Russia. And the only one who actually searches for information and does not generate it. This is indispensable for research.
I use Perplexity for: searching for fresh competitor cases, checking CPL by niche, analyzing the latest changes in Yandex algorithms, fact-checking numbers. Perplexity provides the answer + links to sources. Difference with ChatGPT: ChatGPT “remembers” data up to a certain date, Perplexity goes to the Internet and takes the latest one.
But Perplexity is not suitable for: content writing (weak), big data analysis (few tokens), strategies (no depth). I have Perplexity - 15% of my working time, strictly on research.

6. Which one to choose: decision matrix
If you are a solo marketer with a budget of up to $40/month, take Claude Pro. It will cover 70% of the tasks: from strategy to copywriting. Leave ChatGPT for creatives - you can use the free version.
If the team consists of 3 people, connect the Claude + ChatGPT API. Gemini - for analysts who need to process tables and documents. Perplexity - for the research department.
If you work in the Russian Federation without a VPN, take Perplexity as a basis + free ChatGPT via VPN for content.
My configuration for 6 projects: Claude Sonnet 4.6 - strategy, briefs, analytics, content. ChatGPT 4o - creatives, headlines, quick texts. Perplexity - research. Gemini - tables and multimodal tasks. Budget - 80 $/month.
7. Four mistakes when choosing AI
1. Look for the “best” AI. There is no better one. There are tasks and tools for them. Claude will not beat ChatGPT in creatives. ChatGPT will lose to Claude in analytics. Choose not a model, but a bunch of models.
2. Buy all subscriptions at once. Start with one - Claude or ChatGPT. In a month you will understand what is missing and add a second one. Perplexity can be added right away - it’s cheap and solves a different problem.
3. Compare using tests from the Internet. Benchmarks like MMLU and HumanEval say nothing about how a model will cope with your specific task. Test on your data.
4. Ignore the ecosystem. Claude has a Claude Code. ChatGPT has plugins and DALL-E. Gemini has integration with Google Workspace. The ecosystem is sometimes more important than the quality of the model itself. I chose Claude as the main one precisely because of Claude Code and the long context.

8. Conclusion
ChatGPT vs Claude vs Gemini is the wrong question. Correct: “what combination of models to assemble for your tasks.” I put together Claude + ChatGPT + Perplexity + Gemini - that's 80 $/month and 12-18 hours of savings per week. No single model produces such a result.
The main thing is not to look for the ideal model. Look for the ideal combination for your type of task. And test on your own data, not on benchmarks.
