UTM tags for Tilda
Collecting links for a landing page on Tilda and analyzing why transitions from it appear in the report without a source.
Why mark outgoing landing links
A landing page on Tilda almost never lives alone: it leads to the main site, to a form on another domain, to a messenger, to payment. Each such transition is a new visit for analytics, and if the link is not marked, the original source is lost.
In practice, it looks like this: a person came from Direct to the landing page, clicked the button on the main site - and in the report of the main site, he now came “from a tilde”, and not from advertising. The budget has been removed, but the channel is not visible in the report.
How to mark
For outgoing links, set utm_source=tilda and utm_medium=referral: this will separate transitions from the landing page from advertising ones. In utm_campaign - the name of the landing page, so that the report can see which landing page leads people next.
Internal links within one Tilda page do not need to be marked at all: the anchor and transition between blocks do not create a new visit, and a label in such a link will only reset the original source.
Common mistake: button labels instead of links
In Tilda, a button can lead to an anchor, an external address, or a phone number. Labels make sense only in the second case. The UTM in the link to the anchor gives a transition with a label to the same page - the analytics will start a new visit and lose the advertising source.
