System Prompt
System prompt - constant instructions to the model: who she is, in what style and by what rules she answers. Set once, affects the entire dialogue.
System prompt is the “default setting” for the model. In it you set the role, tone, format, restrictions: who the model is, how he writes, what he doesn’t do. Unlike a regular message, a system prompt affects the entire dialogue.
For a marketer, this is a way to fix your tone of voice once. I keep a system prompt describing my style: what words not to use, what paragraph length, what level of formality. Then in regular messages I simply set the task - the style maintains itself.
A rookie mistake is to shove everything into every message. Correct: stable (role, style, rules) - in the system prompt, variable (specific task) - in the usual prompt.
