Hallucination
Hallucination - when LLM confidently produces a false fact: a non-existent figure, link, quote. The main risk of AI content without verification.
A hallucination is when the model answers confidently and smoothly, but the fact is false. A made-up statistic, a link that doesn't exist, a quote that no one said. The danger lies in the certainty: the hallucination looks exactly like the truth.
For a marketer, this is a direct risk. AI wrote a post with “a study according to which 73% ...” - but there is no study. Published it and took a reputational blow. Therefore, I have a rule: any number, name, link from AI is checked by hand. The AI writes the text - I confirm the facts.
What reduces hallucinations: give the model facts in context (RAG), ask to cite the source, do not ask questions out of thin air. What doesn’t help is simply asking “don’t hallucinate.”
